Children and Teens enjoy painting, drawing, and illustrating at Rosemarie Morelli Art Studio School. The relaxed-structured classes allow students to work on the main project of their choosing at their own speed while learning the fundamentals for seeing and rendering the 3D form, shape correction, and color mixing. Be it realistic or expressive, good composition design will be emphasized. Each day students participate in a 30-minute group sketch study to hone skills in drawing and painting portraits and anatomy of people and animals, object surfaces and textures, and landscape elements while discovering different media of their liking. Then, they work individually on the main project(s) choosing from landscapes, seascapes, still life fantasy characters. Students work in their choice of media: oil, acrylic, and watercolor paints; pastels; pen & ink; color pencil; charcoal; conte crayons; graphite. There are photo references and art books for inspiration and students are welcome to bring in their iPads or phones for their own photos and additional research. Creating art via AI-generated images is not allowed! Students will be taught how to solve problems and engage their visual imaginations.
